| Flame Stop V Caulking/Trowellable is an intumescent material which expands when it is exposed to thermal energy. It can either be trowelled or expelled from various types of caulking guns. For use when penetration cannot be permitted to transfer air, smoke, water or fumes. This product can yield up to a 4 hour F rating and a 3 hour T rating. Because it is an intumescent product it can also be used on platic piping. Also commonly used for duct, power cable, telephone cable, conduit, steel pipe, glass pipe, insulated pipe, plastic pipe and blank penetrations. Because there are no hazardous chemicals in Flame Stop V Caulk, it is not necessary to wear gloves, glasses or safety clothing. Also, since it remains plaible for an extended period of time, it can easily be inspected. - Non-Toxic - Non-Flammable - Non-Carcinogenic Red in color with a Flame Spread of 0 and Smoke Density of 20. Applicable Standards The suitability of Flame Stop Caulking for wall or floor penetration seals is evidenced by the results of fire endurance testing as defined in ASTM E-814 "Standard Method of Fire Tests of Through-Penetrations Firestops" and ASTM L-119. It has also been tested and complies with UL 1479. The material successfully withstood 3 hours of fire exposure and the subsequent hose stream test in most common configurations, as indicated by available test data. Flame Stop V also has passed IEEE 634 requirements.
